Background: A prototype machine has been developed and is deemed for production in the next year or two. As a result some components deemed to be consumables require additional production equipment to ensure the stock levels of the consumable items can be maintained. One such production machine is considered in this turnkey project. The specialised equipment was developed by MKDesigns drawing up user requirements and functional specifications to concept phase, through detailed design, manufacture and commissioning.
Description: Hundreds of steel tips are loaded into a hopper. They are orientated and fed into an alignment tool which aims the tips appropriately to be pressed into a steel housing brought in overhead from storage. Fine 20µm tolerances were required at an accuracy at 4 ton forces. The result is an extremely accurate and robust production machine utilising the latest manufacturing methods and electronics. Thus allowing the client increased production capabilities and accurate data measured from all variables and stored into the company IT system for further analysis and product optimisation.
