Robot Cell
Project Details:
Total Value: $190 000
Year Completed: 2025
Duration: 2 years
Background:
The project required the development of a jig to ensure precise placement of bit holders on a drum. Accurate three-dimensional orientation and radial positioning of the bit point were essential to optimize drum efficiency and extend its operational lifespan.
Description:
MKDesigns engineered a jig designed to position bit holders on the drum, accommodating two angular orientations. Following a review with the client and an external expert, it was determined that a third angular constraint was critical. This additional requirement necessitated the use of a robotic system for precise bit holder placement. MKDesigns collaborated with Yaskawa to develop a robotic cell tailored for this application.
