Military Vehicle Support Equipment
Project Details:
Total Value: $740 000
Year Completed: 2007
Duration: 4.5 years (on-going supply)
Background:
Military vehicles require servicing at field outposts. To facilitate these requirements a range of equipment was developed to lift vehicles, install and remove axles and power packs. Compact, mobile equipment is required to perform heavy lifting and support.
Description:
A variety of equipment has been developed by MKDesigns for different militaries around the world and for different vehicles.
- Power pack trailers are designed for loads of approximately 1500kg, and allow power pack testing and assembly off line from vehicles.
- Lifting beams and interface cranes for power packs.
- Body stands support vehicle hulls to allow body rebuilds. Vehicle stands support complete vehicles of approximately 20 tons.
- Axle trestles lift and lower axles of approximately 1600kg into and out of position in the vehicle using a scissor mechanism. These items are also used to install and remove other driveline components below the vehicles.
