Infrared & Visible Scanning
Project Details:
Total Value: $80 000
Year Completed: 2005
Duration: 2.5 years
Background:
The project aimed to develop a process for extracting indicator minerals from samples by leveraging infrared and visible spectrum analysis, utilizing the reflection of a light source off mineral particles.
Description:
MKDesigns played a pivotal role throughout the project, from the initial development of a batch processing method to the creation of a technology demonstrator and, ultimately, an advanced demonstration machine. The initiative focused on extracting indicator minerals from samples by analyzing reflections in the infrared and visible spectrums. MKDesigns engineered mechanical subsystems capable of locating and extracting 300-micron particles from batches, ensuring precision and efficiency in the mineral extraction process. The successful development and demonstration of this technology marked a significant advancement in mineral processing capabilities.
